All about our cabin - Maringotka pod Smrkem

Location

Our cabin, Maringotka pod Smrkem, is located on the outskirts of Nové Město pod Smrkem, at the very foot of the Jizera Mountains. The location offers plenty of opportunities for spending peaceful holidays in the nature. 

Capacity 

The cabin (20 square meters), fits up to 4 guests on a spacious bed of 200 x 230 cm. Another 2 guests may crash on the floor in own sleeping pads and bags. 

Equipment/Facilities

All necessary equipment is on site. The kitchen is equipped with pots and pans, kettle, plates, bowls, mugs, glasses, cutlery, etc. For cooking you can use a two-burner gas stove. There is no fridge, keep this in mind when shopping for your stay's groceries.

There are blankets and pillows for up to 4 people, always including clean bed sheets. A small hand towel is also provided for each guest. For summer stays, garden furniture is available. If visiting with pets, please bring all your necessities. 

Fire wood is always available. 

Utilities

The cabin is in the remote without connection to any utilities (electricity, water, drainage, wifi). There is no shower, flushing toilet nor high-voltage power outlets. However, we do have lights as well as USB sockets for minor electronics. In the kitchen sink, there is a tap with running water (barrel-size limited). 

In the summer season (May - September), you can use an outdoor high-pressure shower. All year-round bathing is possible in the nearby river stream or in a lake (currently under construction). The toilet is a dry toilet, located 50 m away in the nearby forest.

Accessibility/parking

The cabin is located on a meadow, 200 m from a paved road, ending with a parking lot. To protect our grass surrounding the cabin, we do not allow for parking directly at the cabin.

If you are coming by train or bus, expect a 1,8 km long walk from the closest station. 

Access in the winter may be more difficult due to snow, let us update you prior your arrival. Unfortunately, our accommodation is not wheelchair accessible.

To book your stay please contact us here or via Instagram. We will find the right date for you and send you confirmation message with all the necessary instructions and payment details. We kindly ask you to pay a 50% deposit, refundable up to 14 days prior your arrival.
